Cheltenham School District announces the following extra duty-extra pay position is available for the 2023-2024 school-year, at Cheltenham High School:

 

                                                                                                                          

                                      Tennis (Boys) - Head Coach

 

 

The Head Boys Tennis Coach promotes an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Head Coach provides leadership and supervision for the boys tennis team and works closely with assistant coaches and athletic administration.

 

General Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and supervise the High School Boys Tennis program.
2. Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
3. Help students achieve gains in athletic skill and team performance.
4. Design and implement organized practices and workout programs.
5. Organize and supervise the coaching staff (assistant coaches) to assure that the program is properly implemented.
5. Train assistant coaches in techniques, skills, philosophy, rules, and strategies.
6. Responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics with scheduling of the following:
a. game schedules
b. practice schedules
7. Attend PIAA mandatory rules meetings, and adhere to rules and regulations of PIAA and the Suburban One League.
8. Develop team rules, communicate them to the players and their parents, and equitably enforce them.
9. Create and execute fundraising opportunities for boys tennis program.
10. Ensure that student athletes meet eligibility rules.
11. Ensure that physical evaluation forms and permission forms are properly completed and filed in the Athletics office.
12. Ensure that student athletes adhere to grade requirements, and rules of behavior.
13. Ensure the continual supervision of student athletes on the court, in conditioning, and in locker room.
14. Ensure that health and safety precautions are observed during all activities.
