The Cheltenham School District announces the following administrative position:
Position: Principal - Elementary 5-6
Classification: CASSA - Act 93 Administrator
Schedule: Year-round, 12-month position
Certification: PA Elementary Principal K-6 or K-12 Principal
Position Overview: The Cheltenham School District is looking for an innovative building administrator for the Elkins Park School which serves 770 of our 5th and 6th grade students. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the total operation and curriculum of the school, and performs the administrative functions specified by school law, board policy and directives set forth by the Director of Education, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent. The incumbent is expected to have an understanding of special education and instructional practices necessary to improve the educational outcomes for all students. The duties shall also include maintaining a safe and positive school climate for students, teachers, and all auxiliary support staff and volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania Elementary Principal K-6 or K-12 Principal certificate with Masters’ degree.
- Demonstrated curriculum and staff leader with experience in teaching and leading intermediate grades.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all administrators and the management team, the Board of School Directors, parents, students, professional staff and the community.
- Experience with project based learning preferred.
- Current acceptable Act 34, Act 114 and Act 151 clearances; satisfactory pre-employment compliance per law.
